i almost hate to say this, but knowing those guys they probably set the whole thing up: paid heckler, Hollywood candy glass and acting. I'm NOT saying that this is what they did, only that they certainly could have ;).

Juggling fire and juggling broken bottles are very different. Were he to catch the wrong end of a flaming baton, the worst case scenario is him reflexively dropping the stick and then it getting doused by his assistant. Plus the batons are weighted to spin right. If he grabs the wrong end of a broken glass bottle, hospitalization ensues.

Actually you can catch the burning end of a juggling torch and not burn yourself. If you close your hand around it it just goes out.

if he can juggle fire and catch the right end he can juggle the broken bottles and catch the right end, not sugar glass.

not sure you can get name brand bottles in sugar glass, though I could be wrong...

nah. fire is more dangerious kinda but uneven broken glass is ALOT harder to controll and juggle then perfectly even well weighted juguling sticks
